New York, NY – October 1, 2025 — Civic strategist, nonprofit capital advisor, and economic development leader Phoenix Trent today announced that his exploratory write-in campaign will not continue to the general election, and that he will proudly support and work with whoever voters choose as the 111th mayor of the city of New York.

“This campaign has always been about a vision for New York—bold, pragmatic, and rooted in opportunity and prosperity for all,” said Trent. “I remain deeply committed to that vision, and I will proudly support and work alongside whoever becomes our next mayor to ensure New York thrives. Our city is strongest when we are united, and I look forward to continuing my work with communities and organizations that are working hard to make the best city in the world even better and I will work to channel our shared energy into building a fairer, more dynamic future together.”

Trent emphasized that this moment marks not the end of his political work, but the beginning of a new chapter. He revealed the forthcoming launch of The New York Idea Podcast—a platform designed to push forward innovative solutions, amplify new voices, and connect business, civic, and community leaders in the fight for a stronger city.

In addition, Trent announced the formation of an exploratory committee to consider future races and continue the momentum built during this campaign.

“Our campaign was never about one race—it was about long-term progress for New York built on Bright Ideas and Proven Principles,” Trent added. “We are not stepping back. We are stepping forward—toward future campaigns, future opportunities, and a sustained vision for this city. The work of building a New York that is both pro-business and pro-people has only just begun.”
